The masterplan of Aberdeen beach had a strong concentration on providing innovative and exciting industries for the city with a particular focus on the digital culture of society. The Aberdeen eSports Arena is looking to address the technological advancements that have been demonstrated within this industry and the enticement that is created for a major eSports event.

The design of the arena intends to create a dramatic and enticing form which draws people towards it. The arena will consist of a series of gaming pods where up to 4 people can experience a new eSports viewing experience. This futuristic approach to eSports viewing will allow for the viewers to feel completely engrossed in the event as they will have access to multiple screens in front of them as well as the performance of the event which will also be happening in front of them.

The form of the bowl has taken inspiration from the golden ratio in order to create a distinct connection between the open air pods. This connection will happen vertically and laterally due to the composition of the pods within the arena. This building will also host a series of hotel rooms where people can submerge themselves in a gaming world 24/7. This will maintain a 7 day a week use of the space and provide a completely unique approach to the future of gaming.
